Overall I feel my brain was put in a chokehold at the end of this book. Jim was going to be set free in the will of Miss Watson, So what exactly was the point of the book other than to show a friendship between a white boy and a slave? Because the whole story is kind of irrelevant due to Jim being set free in the end. Really not the ending I wanted but I guess I didn't write the book so I don't know Mr. twains intensions.
The overall takeaway I got was that even through hard times and hard spots, we can all find our own peace and have fun with it like Tom and Huck did throughout this entire novel. Those boys really didn't let the oppression of society get to them and make them make a wrong decision, they did what they wanted to throughout so I guess the takeaway would be to live without the weight on your shoulders. Don't let that weight hold you back from living life how you want to live it.
I didn't really like how the book ended. It made it seem as if there wasn't any point in the whole book except for Huck and Jims evolving relationship. Which is an aspect I enjoyed seeing unfold. It kept the book fresh and almost "light" in a sense that the main concepts in the book weren't too difficult to figure out. which in turn made the book all around more enjoyable.
