I feel like tom wants to make this plan really difficult. So difficult to the point where I wasn't sure if they could even do it. Why does he have to do this? why can't he and Huck do something simple that gets what they need done, done quickly and easily. And why in the world does Huck just go along with everything Tom says? Its annoying!
The only take away I have from these chapters is that if something is easy, you must make it 100 times harder. That's the logic from Tom in these chapters. This is by far the most important takeaway in this whole book (sarcasm). And I feel could be an effort from the author to lengthen the book by a few pages. Or perhaps he had writers block and just threw down a bunch of things to get to where he wanted to go. This might not be an accurate assumption, but its plausible.
And to conclude this blog, I obviously didn't feel like Tom was being smart at all and almost seemed to want to make the plan so hard they would fail. This frustrates me to no end. All it shows is how irresponsible Tom still is. And honestly Huck too for following his plan. I don't feel like these two are showing any progression in their characters from the start of the book to the finish except the fact that they are helping a slave escape from prison.
