A takeaway I got from these chapters is that Huck is a very caring person. He easily could have left the murderers on the wreck when him and Jim left, but instead he tried to arrange it so that someone would go save them. Most people would have just left them, and I don't blame them since thats what they deserved. On the other hand, Huck shows how much more compassionate and all around concerned about the value of a life than many people would be in that situation. And without a doubt in my mind, I would have just left them there. I'm not sure if that makes Huck a better person than me, but I believe that it shows a more forgiving side in humanity that might not be seen very often these days.
Something I like about this part in the book is that Huck is starting to show his adventurous side. He easily could have passed the wreck. But instead he decides to go explore it, which is a good thing since that is the most interesting part out of those chapters by far.
